Visible Stars presents a substantial selection from all of Bruce Whiteman's published poetry, as well as an intriguing selection of unpublished new work. This volume includes excerpts from Whiteman's long poem in-progress, "The Invisible World is in Decline." There is acute sensitivity at work here. Striking juxtapositions of conversational and metaphorical language foreground the narrative, located somewhere between the visible and the invisible, the concrete and the abstract.
