Women of the West

This strongly illustrated popular history tells the stories of eleven western American women between 1830 and 1910, women of varying economic, racial and religious backgrounds. These are not the stories of the famous or infamous, but rather stories of the everyday women who came West either pursuing dreams of their own or in support of their hubands' search for a new and better life.
