Haymarket Revisited

Professor Adelman presents the history of the Haymarket Affair with a broad perspective of surrounding related events, the many people involved, historically significant Chicago locations, then & now, & the social changes that we enjoy today brought about by these great people. A fascinating group of tours is included that allows you to glimpse some of the times. I have lived in Chicago most of my life, & even attended St. Michael's High School. I've always lived in these neighborhoods where these events & people lived. But, before this book my knowledge of these events, studied & known throughout the world, was superficial & inaccurate. This should be required reading for all students in the Chicago area, since these events & people contributed, & are respected around the world, for this Chicago history. If you are new to labor history or are interested in Chicago history, then, this is a very good read.--F. Joseph Judkins (edited)
