Arkansas Valley Interurban (Interurbans special)

Reprint (original was published in 1956) of an excellent history of the Arkansas Valley Interurban which served Wichita, Kansas from 1910 until 1942, providing both passenger and freight service. Covers the AVI from its prospectus through to its demise and then follows the Hutchinson & Northern Railway, which picked up a small portion of the AVI's lines. Illustrated throughout with black and white photos. With maps, diagrams and charts.
