Best known for his photos for Life , Bristol was a confirmed teller of stories. He associated with Steichen, Adams, Cunningham, Eisenstaedt. The included catalog has many exposures he made in migrant camps while travelling with Steinbeck (gathering material for The Grapes of Wrath though this was not revealed to Bristol). This volume contains powerful images (not well reproduced) with a fine biographical essay by Wm. Eiland. It is the product of an exhibition and symposium at U. of Georgia which will travel under auspices of the Smithsonian Institution Travelling Exhibition Service (SITES).
