Never, Never Give Up

Jack Hartman studied to see if other Christian books had been written on the subject of patience, endurance and perseverance. He was surprised to find that very little material has been written pertaining to these subjects. When Jack taught classes on patience and perseverance he asked people in his classes how many Scripture references they knew pertaining to this subject. Many people in the classes didn't know any Scripture references pertaining to patience and perseverance. Very few peple knew as many as ten Scripture references pertaining to this subject. Never, Never Give Up contains almost three hundred Scripture references on patience and perseverance. Jack defines a patient person as someone who is able to deal with frustrating people, problems or situations with tolerance, calmness and self-control. Patient people are even-tempered. They refuse to become frustrated, provoked or angered. Patient people are consistent in their response to problems. After devoting five chapters to the subject of patience, Jack then wrote thirteen chapters pertaining to perseverance. He defines persevering people as goal-oriented, single-minded and unceasing. These people are doggedly determined and they refuse to be denied. Persevering people have great stamina. They are able to keep going in the face of severe opposition. This book carefully examines the relationship between faith and patience. Many practical examples of patient people are given. A careful study is made between the diffence between God's timing and man's timing. Jack also explains why Satan wants us to hurry and rush and why our Father doesn't want us to hurry. This book explains from the Word of God how to appropriate the strength and ability of Almighty God to persevere. Readers will learn what it means to wait on the Lord and how to build themselves up spiritually while they're waiting for God's answer to their prayers. A thorough study is made of the relationship between perseverance and prayers. The book closes with a chapter explaining the blessings our Father provides for His children who persevere in faith.
