In 1904, the US Department of Agriculture send G. Harold Powell to Southern California to see if he could advise orange grower on how to reduce spoilage of the orange crop. His efforts were so useful that within four years, he had saved growers more than a million dollars a year. He was later eulogized for launching the "Powell Era" in the orange industry. This book contains a collection of letters Powell sent to various people. Included are photographs and chapter notes.
