Games and Activities With Base Ten Blocks/Book 2 Grades 1-4

This book is about modeling whole number operations: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. This book is designed so that children can figure out the answer while playing games and thus the student who needs the most practice is not shut out or penalized. All games have an element of chance (roll or the dice spin of a spinner, draw of the card) which gives al children, regardless of skill, a chance to win. This provides motivation for the less skilled and promotes cooperation rather than hostility among the children playing. Different games can be assigned to different children depending on need.
