Come What May
Description:
More than 4,000 underprivileged Honduran boys receive an academic and spiritual education because Don Hawk, young Ohio farmer, kneels beside a cornstalk in 1946 to promise God, "I’ll do what you want me to do, come what may." With his wife, Twana, beside him, Don’s commitment produces El Sembrador, the recognized and respected farm school for Honduran boys, most of whom otherwise have little opportunity for an education.
Starting with 800 acres—one acre cleared, 799 acres of jungle—and a class of 13 boys, life at El Sembrador proves humorous, arduous, faith stretching, and rewarding amidst the growth in enrollment, acreage, and reputation.
