Scope & Sequence for Literacy Instruction

Scope & Sequence for Literary Instruction is a complete literary instruction course. Based on the work of Orton, Gillingham, Stillman, and Slingerland, it provides rationales for instruction and proven sequence for the introduction of graphemes, phonemes, decoding, reading, spelling, and writing. It is for all grade levels and ages and for students with varying degrees of learning differences, including SLD and ESL., as well as for regular classroom use. It explains the differences and similarities among Orton-based adaptations, and may readily be incorporated into meaning-emphasis programs, such as whole language. Scope & Sequence will benefit all teachers who wish to improve and enhance literacy instruction by systematic use of a multisensory alphabetic-phonics approach.
