The German text is print in Rudolph Koch's Wilhelm Klingspor Schrift black-letter with red initials in his Zierschrift. The English text is printed in Chappell's Trajanus Antiqua, and each English page is decorated with a two-color wood-engraving by Chappell. The book is bound in a fine brown cloth, with spine and front paper labels. A very sympathetic and lovely production of Rilke's youthful work about a kinsman who fought in the Austro-Turkish War of the 1660's.
