"Minor League Baseball Stars, Volume 3" was published in 1992 by the Society for American Baseball Research. The book presents minor league statistical records for more than 250 players, more than two dozen photos and illustrations, and more than 30 pages of anecdotes, history, and illuminating statistics. There is a special section for minor league players who became famous in other fields, including John Elway, Don Hutson, Sammy Baugh, Sweetwater Clifton, Mario Cuomo, and Randy "Macho Man" Savage. The cover of "Minor League Baseball Stars, Volume 3" features a picture of Chuck Connors, who played in the minor leagues from 1940 to 1952 and later became an actor, most famous as the lead character in the television show "The Rifleman."
