The 'Directory' covers the period when Britain was the foremost industrial country of the world. It contains 4,000 biographies of very diverse traders, together with over 16,000 makers' marks, illustrated and arranged to allow easy identification. Based on the records of Goldsmiths' Hall, this is the most important reference on British 19th century silver and is essential for all collectors, dealers and historians. Two volume set: I.
