Conceptions of History in the Works of Cheikh Anta Diop and Theophile Obenga

Explaining death as an activity of rejuvenation, this book describes death in terms of its function as a force of rebirth. Including sections on the Amduat, the Book of Caverns, and the Book of Gates, the tenets of the underworld are detailed. Allowing the deceased to become young again, death is thought to stop and reverse the process of aging; and the Egyptian tomb, with its colorful illustrations, is seen as a place from where the body rises again.
