Description:
Establishing a Children's Rights Commissioner would help to ensure that politicians, policy-makers and practitioners take children seriously. Since first publication of this title in 1991 support for establishing a UK-wide office of Children's Rights Commissioner has grown: now, more than 80 national organizations support the proposal set out in detail in the report. Internationally, independent offices to promote the human rights of children have been established in many countries, as one response to implementation of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.
