The new nomads: From immigrant labor to trasnational working class

In this issue , the Editors of contemporary marxism and a broad range of contributors wish to address a shared concern: to understand the profound structural transformations taking place in the capitalist world economy and world order today and for the rest of this century. Fundamentally, these are changes in the international flows of capital and labor, the two great protagonists in the class struggle of the capitalist era. What has changed since the time of Marx is that the class struggle today, more than ever before, is occurring on a transnational scale-- a scale in which national boundaries persist, but no longer alone define the parameters of the struggle.
