A Constitutional History of the United States

This work is designed primarily to be used in an undergraduate survey course of American constitutional history. It is as comprehensive and as accurate as the author could make it within the framework of that design; it is by no means, however, as full, as technical, or as detailed as the large tomes-such as those of McLughlin, Hockett, Swisher, and Kelly and Harbison-that were used over the years when constitutional history was a bread-and-butter course in graduate departments of political science and history.
