Kalani and the Night Marchers

This is the rollicking tale of two 18th century boys who stumble through a portal in time. Disgruntled 13-year-old Kalani runs away from his foster home and is followed by his young friend John, a New Englander who arrived in Honolulu as a cabin boy on a sailing ship. After a meeting with the fearsome Night Marchers—ghosts of Hawaiian royalty—the boys find themselves in another century, where they experience the delights of an ancient festival, the rigors of manual labor—and the terror of a legendary battle.
