Description:
Global Business Law is designed for what is now a standard course in the curriculum of both American and many overseas law schools: "International Business Transactions" (frequently abbreviated as "IBT"), which is sometimes called "International Business Law." Authors Frisch and Bhala have designed this book to "globalize" teachers and students alike, better preparing them for the global economy of the 21st century. They explore the increasing popularity of multinational corporations (MNCs), arguing that these are as — if not more — important actors in the global community than all but a handful of foreign national governments. The excerpts chosen for Global Business Law convey a wide range of legal and policy problems and risk issues in global business, edited in a way that allows the reader to get as complete a picture as possible about these problems. The learning experience provided by this book is cumulative — each part, and each chapter of each part, builds on its predecessor in a logical fashion. The text is designed to be "user-friendly" for both the student and the professor, with chapters of equal length and difficulty that can be spaced out over a semester course. Global Business Law aims at the present or aspiring world citizens who are going to practice, and world law professors who are going to teach, in an increasingly borderless world. The materials in the document supplement, which are cross-referenced in the casebook, facilitate the exploration of each topic, as do the questions in the casebook. The teacher's manual contains suggested answers. Available Supplements: Global Business Law Principles and Practice Document Supplement September 1999, 828 pp, paper, ISBN 0-89089-684-4
