Trade Policy Review: Cameroon 2001: World Trade Organization, Geneva, December 2001
Description:
Under the Trade Policy Review Mechanism (TPRM) of the World Trade Organization, the trade policies and practices of all WTO Members are subject to periodic review in order to monitor significant trends and developments which may have an impact on the global trading system. The reviews are conducted on the basis of a policy statement by the Member under review and a comprehensive report drawn up by the WTO Secretariat. The second Trade Policy Review of Cameroon was concluded in July 2001. The report notes the country's need for technical assistance to fulfil its obligations under the WTO and facilitate closer integration into the multilateral trading system. Structural reforms and liberalisation measures are encouraged in order to attract foreign investment.
