Description:
From 1932 to 1954, David L. Neumann contributed a series of articles to El Palacio on the status of Navajo Indian silverwork. Neumann is a serious student of the craft, and he has been a trader to the Indians and a dealer in their jewelry. His comments thus have an authoritative, practical side to them that is often lacking in other studies. In this booklet, the six articles which Neumann wrote over the 20-year period have been assembled and edited by Betty T. Toulouse, curator of collections for the School of American Research in Santa Fe, herself an expert in this field.
