Acoustic Charge Transport: Companion Software
Description:
This is the companion software to the book of the same name. Provided in source code in the book, the PTFSIM program calculates tap weights for an ACT programmable filter using window functions such as rectangular, Bartlett, Hamming, Hanning, Blackman, and Kaiser. It calculates the effects of certain ACT device characteristics, such as element factor order effects, on the frequency and impulse response. The program can provide a set of tap weights which are compensated for element factor rolloff, and are suitable for loading into an actual ACT programmable filter. Included on the disk version in source code and executable form, the PTFREMEZ program calculates optimal ACT tap weights using the Remez Exchange algorithm. PTFREMEZ can design more arbitrary filter responses than PTFSIM, but contains the same abilities to calculate the effects of ACT characteristics and to compensate for element factor roll-off. The disk version is a complete graphics library in source code form, usable with these and other FORTRAN programmes, for providing graphical output on the PC screen. This graphics library is extremely convenient to use: a single subroutine call is all that is necessary to provide a graph with mouse support, optional output to a printer or a plotter, and user control of scales and graph style. System requirements: IBM PC or compatible. Graphics cards: CGA, EGA, or VGA. 640K RAM. An HP plotter is optional. Coprocessor is strongly recommended.
