Anti-Protection: Changing Forces in United States Trade Politics

This is the First systematic analysis of the political activity and influence of the range of US economic interests export industries, industrial users of imports, retailers, and household consumers, that benefit from international trade. The study examines which groups suffer most from current and prospective US import restrictions, when and why they enter the political arena, and what influence they have on government decisions. It concludes with recommendations for current US trade policy and processes.
