From the book: "This book is for kids (though I'd be pleased and proud if their parents and teachers read it, too.) I've tried to write it so that it's interesting to read, and not too "preachy." My twelve-year-old daughter, one of the best visual learners I know (and, as she herself admits, one of the poorest auditory learners), has carefully edited my work, taking out as many "icky" parts as she could. I found her suggestions invariably useful, and her work contributed to the manuscript.
