Defying the laws of man and God, the Bighams established themselves as lords--acquiring land and power, strong arming anyone who stood in their wary. On January 15, 1921, their dynasty crumbled.
When five of the six remaining members of this notorious family were found brutally murdered, it was believed the family had finally turned the gun on itself. The sole survivor--who doubtlessly bore the brunt of public retaliation against his entire clan--was convicted of the slayings. Throughout the six years of trial and the subsequent forty years in prison, Edmund Bigham maintained his innocence.
