Sexual abuse changes lives. It has an insidious impact on the psyche of the victim, and the effects of such abuse are lifelong. From the first act perpetrated on the young victim, the child is threatened, "Don't tell anyone." This horrible secret spreads like a cancer throughout the body and soul. In order to heal, this cancer must be excised. This work forms part of the healing process of one survivor of childhood sexual abuse. The images are harsh, the language frightening, but the experience is real. Though she has come to terms with her anger and pain and has forgiven her father, she still suffers.
