Seurat and the Science of Painting

In tracing Georges Seurat's theory of art and its application in his major paintings, Homer has woven every bit of evidence relating to the scientific influences on the work of Seurat into a carefully organized and clearly presented exposition. The author's approach has been to study those scientific source which influence this artist.. Each of Seurat's great paintings is in turn analyzed to determine what use he made of such scientific theory and how if influenced his technique and composition.
