Madame Dorion

Only five years after Lewis and Clark, Madame Dorion traveled with her husband, across much of the same uninhabited country. She is practically unknown. Her story is the humble tale of a woman's courage, loyalty, and self-reliance in the face of cold, thirst, hunger, murder, and childbirth. Sacajawea became internationally famous and Dorian has been nearly forgotten.
