Wildlife Watcher's Handbook

Primarily for bird-watchers, this how-to book gives information about how wild animals sense their world and how we humans can approach them for purposes of observation and photography. Advice is given about optical aids (telescopes, binoculars) and photographic equipment suitable for wildlife observation and photography. Information is given about safety in the wild (recognizing and avoiding dangerous animals; using topographic maps; navigating with map, compass, and landforms) and using blinds, camouflage, flash lighting, and other techniques that enhance photographic opportunities. The book has some applications to hunting big and small game, but the focus is less on hunting and more on wildlife observation and appreciation.
