Description:
Unlike the better known circular kivas of the Mesa Verde and Chaco divisions of the San Juan Anasazi and those of the Rio Grande Valley, the Hopi and other western Anasazi kivas early developed a rectangular form through a transitional period of subterranean D-shaped structures. That development is traced in this report.
