The History of Georgetown County, South Carolina

A history of the people who have lived in the geographic region which is now Georgetown County, South Carolina. This land has been a part of many divisions of the province and of the state--counties, parishes, judicial districts, as well as a bewildering array of smaller administrative units. A chronological survey of these divisions will provide a framework within which to tell the story of the people who lived around Winyah Bay.
