Abstracts of Obituaries in the Western Christian Advocate, 1834-1850

This collection of abstracts from the western Methodist church paper contains more than eight thousand obituary entries that often include birth date and place, death date and place, names of relatives, previous residences, and more. Most of the obituaries are of people from the states of Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky; however, other states in the Midwest are also represented. Entries are arranged chronologically by issue and alphabetically by name of deceased. Two indexes, a name index and a geographic index, are also included.
