Canadian Sunset: A Farewell Look at North America's Last Great Train

A serious student of railroads and the mountain section of the Canadian Pacific in particular presents a nostalgic album of color photos by himself and others. Most of the text appears as captions to the splendid plates. Half the book deals with the spectacular country between Vancouver and the prairies. We quarrel with the subtitle: Amtrak prospers running a few "great" trains and Via Canada's rail passenger service still runs a transcontinental, with much of this same equipment though on the less scenic northern crossing of the Rockies and only thrice weekly.
