Insiders and Outsiders

Despite severe discrimination, the Indian working class have played an integral and productive role in the development of Durban. In relating their history to the changing nature of capitalism in the period 1910 to 1990, this text provides a complex social and economic analysis, containing strands of gender-related, political, ethnic and cultural issues.
