Notes on Architecture

These notes on architecture represent more than fifty years of combined professional work in the field. During that period we have personally designed and supervised the construction of numerous buildings. We have taught many "appearances" of the art of architecture, helping them with their own design projects. This combination of experience has compounded our understanding of architectural principles many times over. We don't get into theory - the deep, dark secrets of what architecture means. We're simply giving you a place to start. Only after you've mastered the ideas and principles in these notes will you be ready to move on to a deeper understanding. Serious students will be able to take those ideas and build on them until they are true professionals in the field.
