Lectiones Primae (Artes Latinae: Graded Reader, Level 1)

Lectiones Primae is part of the Artes Latinae series. Artes Latinae is a programmed, self-teaching Latin course structured to accommodate multiple levels of students, each learning at his or her own pace.

It is an easy-to-follow, two-level course that includes all the tools a student needs to achieve a firm command of Latin. It meets existing foreign language requirements for high school graduation. The course was carefully crafted and refined to suit the needs and abilities of a broad spectrum of students. Students from ages nine through adult have learned Latin through Artes Latinae.

An illustrated graded reader for first-year Latin students, Lectiones Primae offers two types of readings

Sententiae

A collection of sayings, proverbs, and mottoes.

Fabellae

Connected and extended readings accompanied by illustrations that show each successive change of action. This visual assistance allows students to discover the meanings of new words and thus to comprehend the story.
