Along a Highland road
Description:
Along a Highland Road is a lively account of life in the Highlands over the centuries based on events and stories associated with a dozen or so miles of the A9 where it crosses the valley of the Findhorn (Strathdearn) on the way from Aviemore to Inverness. The Strath was for long rather inaccessible so that changes in the way of life there were slower in coming with the result that the memory of older customs has lingered on, particularly as it is an old Highland custom to pass on stories and traditions from generation to generation from word of mouth.
