Painting the Four Seasons: Atmospheric Landscapes in Watercolour

With contributions from four artists, this book discusses how they interpret the seasons using the medium of watercolours to create atmospheric paintings. All of the artists offer the reader helpful text, preliminary working sketches, step-by-step demonstrations and paintings of nature in all her different aspects, from rain in the hills to morning mist upon the river. They explain the feelings each season evokes for them, their choice of colours and their techniques, from wet-in-wet and wax resist to the use of salt and masking fluid.
