A week in the Middle East =: Usbūʻ fī al-Sharq al-Awsaṭ : an Arabic language reader

This latest addition to the Lund Humphries Arabic language list is a dual language, progressively graded reader for intermediate students wishing to familiarize themselves with the spoken and written language of journalism. Since all grammar-based courses introduce a common core of Modern Literary Arabic lexical items, a knowledge of these is assumed. The aim of this reader is to introduce, and consolidate by subsequent repetition, the next thousand or so lexical items commonly found in newspaper texts, radio and television news and commentaries, as well as in general economic and scientific texts.
