Information And Consultation Of Employees Regulations: A Special Bulletin

In the UK, the Information and Consultation Regulations are due to come into force on April 6, 2005. They will give employees new rights to be consulted about important decisions that affect their jobs in organizations with 150 or more employees. This special bulletin looks in detail at the position of companies with and without pre-existing information and consultation agreements, compliance and enforcement, and restrictions on contracting out. It also considers the circumstances in which employers may restrict or withhold confidential information or documents, together with the protection afforded to employees from dismissal and selection for redundancy for taking action in connection with rights under the regulations.
