Practical Sensitometry
Description:
The aim of this book is to show the photographer how sensitometry can be put to work in everyday practice. Although the background theory necessary for understanding is covered adequately, the emphasis is on practical working methods relating to several different, technical operations. As a senior lecturer at the Manchester Polytechnic, the author has spent much of his time relating photographic practices to their underlying theories for the benefit of students. Some of the experience thus gained is embodied in this book in the hope that it will be of interest and assistance to all photographers who prefer understanding to purely empirical procedures. There are few processes in photography that do not lend themselves to sensitometric control even if only of a simple nature, and various methods are described in these pages.
