Teaching Side-Saddle

Since the formation of the Side-Saddle Association there has been something of a revival in the horse world and these days side-saddle exponents can be seen not only in the show ring and the hunting field, but also taking part in many other spheres of equestrian activity. Riding establishments offering tuition in the art of riding side-saddle are finding that such classes are increasingly popular, even pupils who have no intention of riding side-saddle regularly tend to join a class to try a new riding experience and often become converts. Contents include the choice of suitable horses and ponies, types of saddles and saddle fitting, clothing, teaching techniques, the posture and seat of the rider at all gaits and over fences, plus an explanation of common problems and some advice on teaching the disabled.
