Doctors in the Great War

Britain's medical profession made an indispensable contribution during the carnage of the First World War. Dedicated as they were, Britain's medical leadership nonetheless realized very quickly that the needs of modern warfare were sometimes in conflict with medical ethics and the interests of the profession.
