The Spirit of Masonry

William Hutchinson was initiated on June 4, 1770, as a member of the "Moderns" lodge that met in Barnard Castle. In time he became Master of this Lodge of Concord, holding the office on several occasions. He is often referred to as the father of Masonic symbolism. This edition of his best known work is supplemented with an informative introduction by Trevor Stewart, and a complete bibliography of Hutchinson's writings.
