Out of Abundance

From the author--- This small volume of articles is an inadequate expression of grattitude for the abundance of blessings with which God has graced my life. As a small child I developed a passion for books. Combining that with the inclinations of a tomboy, I was sometimes able to escape the tedium of household chores by clutching my book and disappearing, as I thought, to my favorite perch in the maple tree. Now I know that my my mother was niether deaf nor blind, but only very kind. Years later, I sat at night with a book in hand in a lonely cottage beside the Caribbean Sea, and the pounding of the surf was transmutted into a glorious accompaniment to the words I read. For long years of delight in the printed page my thanks are due those who wrote of their innermost concerns, that they might be made mine also. My family and friends have encouraged me to put my own thoughts on paper. May they and others who read these pages find some pleasure in them.
