Speak to Me That I May Speak: A Spirituality of Preaching

Speak to Me that I May Speak is for any preacher who has ever hesitated and asked that very question. It grows from the conviction that the work of interpretation, reflection, and preparing to preach is at the core of the preacher's spiritual life and deserves our ever deeper attention. This daily work, so well known and accustomed, is forge in which the preacher's own life and faith are transformed. The life of interpretation/preaching is explored as a process of spiritual discipline and transformation through encounter with mystery: in prayer, in language, in the face of the Other, in the ordinary events of a day, in the profusion of the scriptures, and the passion of faith and witness.
