Days of Lonelinessvii, 93 pp. A novella originally published in 1903 as Ensam, which translates as 'Alone'. It was not translated into English until 1971, when Arvid Paulson released a translation through Phaedra (the edition offered here). From the preface: 'Containing a series of observations and meditations on human happiness and grief, frailties and vanities, Strindberg paints a canvas filled with nostalgic episodes of life in the capital of Sweden at the turn of the nineteenth century.
