Timothy the Terror is an African-American children's story published as a soft cover book by Harlin Quist, Inc. and distributed by Dial/Delacorte, New York. text was copyright in 1972. Library of Congress Catalog Card 78-141531. It had a $1.50 cover price (lower rear right hand corner). There are full color illustrations. Three year old Timothy is bullied by his older sisters, who blame him for any mess they make while their parents are at work and even gobble up all his birthday cake, leaving him only the candles. Then Uncle Roland arrives in his big yellow car, fresh from a visit to Africa, with gifts for all. When Timothy receives a tiger, his world changes! Delightful tale with equally delightful illustrations by Jean-Jacques Loup, written in Black vernacular. The author, Ruth Cavin (1918 - 2011) was an American book editor who worked as an associate publisher of Thomas Dunne Books, where she started working at age 70 and oversaw the publication of 900 books.
