Black Holes, Black Stockings explores the physics and probabilities of human relationships, especially those between women. In uniting their two voices, Broumas and Miller create a single, strong, harmonious lyric voice that expresses itself in a collection of intricately woven poems. By immersing ourselves in these poems, we pass through a black hole, leaving pedestrian order behind, and enter a new order of natural images in a lush, erotic world. Emerging from black holes, the poems open like flowers in a shower of release, like a series of Polaroid snapshots, instantaneous and self-contained.
