Environmental History: Critical Issues in Comparative Perspective

This collection focuses on four interrelated areas in the study of the relationship between human societies and the natural environment: changing values and attitudes toward nature; the effects of human economic activity on the natural environment; the history of conservation and environmentalist movements; and the role of professionals, such as scientists and engineers, in transforming nature.
